Alexander Kosnichev is a Moscow artist working in the traditions of Russian realism.
Achievements and Awards
Alexander Kosnichev is a twice laureate of the Gold Medal of the Union of Artists of Russia (2017, 2007), Winner of the all-Moscow painting competition “Old Moscow” (2017), Winner of the Grand Prix of the All-Russian exhibition “Young Artists of Russia” (2007), Nominee of the 1st P.M. Tretyakov All-Russian Competition for Young Artists (2003).
Major Exhibitions
Alexander Kosnichev has held personal exhibitions at Moscow Government House, the Chamber of Commerce, Central House of Sculptors, and the Central House of Journalists.
He is a participant of numerous exhibitions in Moscow’s leading art exhibition spaces such as the State Tretyakov Gallery, Central House of Artists, All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts, Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill, etc., as well as All-Russian painting exhibitions in Moscow, Bryansk, Orel, Lipetsk, and many regional museums and galleries in Russia.
He has also participated in international exhibitions in New York (ArtExpo), Paris (Cite Internationale des Arts), Basel, etc.
Memberships
Alexander Kosnichev has twice been a member of the board of the painting section of the Union of Artists of Russia, a member of the International Art Federation IFA at UNESCO, a member of the International Art Foundation, and a member of the Moscow Union of Artists.
Education
He completed a four-year internship at the Creative Workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts under the guidance of academicians A.P. Tkachev and S.P. Tkachev. He is a graduate of the Surikov Moscow Arts Institute, Faculty of Painting, where he studied in the workshop of Prof. V.N. Zabelin. He is also a graduate of the N.V. Tomsky Moscow Art School. He comes from a family of professional artists.`;
